Hi,
  Yes, the new version of Geomview does not have the error message
appearing on the screen and has the needed O.sgi directory.  Concerning
animation again when you load an image from a file what functions in what
files does that involve.  Could one loop this part of the code (which
I would be happy to do for my purposes here) to get animation (have it
load a sequence of files whose names are all in a file).  Is this what
the command language allows?  WHich commands?  Thanks again. Peter
