Hi. Trying to compile on a Crimson running 4.0.3., and boom-- the machine crashes as soon as I let the make command go. I managed to repeat this experiment 3 times on the Crimson, and 2 on an Indigo. The Makefiles need at least the -cckr flag in them somewhere, but since I don't know offhand where to put that and one still should not get a crash from that kind of thing anyway, I haven't tried any of my own fixes. Have you seen this before? I've never seen that happen on any Iris. I'd dearly like to know what's wrong so I'll be glab to provide a hinv & a trace if it would help. Of course, if I use the tracer, I get a core dump instead of a crash. wayne tvedt wayne at mathematik.uni-bremen.de ...Don't take chances. You might fail.
