[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: a little more info on new geomview on the Next
Sucess--of sorts. After a very frustrating afternoon trying all sorts of complicated things with geomview on the NeXT (black machine, 3.0) and dying a windowserver death many times, I finally stumbled on a seemingly simple example that does it every time. (At least for me, on my machine.) Also, I found a "fix" of sorts--at least on this one example--not that I have a clue as to what is going on. (By the way I rebooted the machine just before getting a crash--so the problem does not seem to be connected to other processes etc, as I had conjectured) The offending file is 1ttcg043.4off.slicey06a.off. If I double click on this icon, I get window server death. abel 8% pwd /usr2/roseman/bug abel 9% ls 1ttcg043.4off.slicey06a anote 1ttcg043.4off.slicey06a.off whatisthis.off HOWEVER, I ran this file through polymerge (see anote) and the resulting file whatisthis.off is well-behaved. To complete the information, I am using Version 1.4.1 compiled Tue Nov 16 16:30:31 . The .geomview file in my home directory is: (progn (backcolor allcams .8 .7 0.5) (bbox-color allgeoms 1 1 0) (window default { size 500 500 }) (emodule-define "warp" "/Max/roseman/gc/geomview/warp.app/warp") (emodule-define "pssnap" "/Max/roseman/gc/geomview/pssnap") (emodule-define "TopDrawer" "/LocalApps/TopDrawer.app/TopDrawer") (normalization World none) (load-path (. /roseman/gvcommands /LocalApps/Geomview.app/data/geom /Max/roseman/oneturnslices /roseman/gc/4d /roseman/gc/3d)) ) (I don't see anything strange there.) I haven't tried this on the 3.1 on a white machine.
