[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: X11 Geomview on a DEC Alpha
Hm. I just tried the current version on a DEC Alpha running DEC OSF/1 V1.3 (Rev. 111); Tue Feb 01 15:50:32 EST 1994 both with COPTS = -g and with COPTS = -O, and it compiles and runs fine. One thing occurs to me. Could you have run out of disk space (e.g. on /tmp or on the filesystem where the geomview source is) during the compilation? Ideally the compiler should report that as an error, but it might just crash. You can find two things up for anonymous FTP from geom.umn.edu under "priv/slevy" : 940313.geomview-src.tar.Z -- exactly the version that I just compiled and ran on the Alpha (except for setting local pathnames in mk.site.default, and setting ``MKFILEDIR = .'' in Makedefs.global) 940313.alpha-binaries.tar.Z -- (only) the resulting binaries, i.e. the contents of bin/sun4/* and modules/sun4/*, compiled with COPTS = -O -g3. Let me know when you've grabbed them (or if you're not going to), as I may delete them after while. Stuart P.S. Note that "MAKEFILES" in Makedefs.global was renamed "MKFILEDIR". Just set MKFILEDIR = . rather than MAKEFILES = . in Makedefs.global. > From boccio at cc.swarthmore.edu Sun Mar 13 20:23:19 1994 > Date: Sun, 13 Mar 1994 21:23:09 -0500 > To: slevy at geom > From: boccio at cc.swarthmore.edu (John Boccio) > Subject: Re: X11 Geomview on a DEC Alpha > Cc: boccio at cc.swarthmore.edu > > >Hi.
