[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] out of memory?
I'm trying to view a molecule converted from another 3D format in Geomview, but it claims to run out of memory on all the Suns I've tried. The file itself is only 2 MB -- it is currently located in /u/burchard/molecule.oogl. The format I'm converting from uses spheres, cylinders, and triangles. Only the last type of element is easily or efficiently representable in OOGL (or does the mythical sphere object exist?). I am representing spheres with cubes and cylinders with square prisms, but the OOGL file is still over twice the size of the (fully ASCII) "raster3d" file ot was converted from. Any hints or advice would be appreciated. These people here are very interested in using Geomview + special biology modules as external viewer for Mosaic for various standard biology formats. However, that won't work if Geomview can't view molecules like the example above on a Sun. Thanks, PB
