[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: [Update REQ 5070]: geomview graphics for maple
Rutgers has a site license for Maple (and not for Mathematica). I don't know to what extent it will be on workstations around the campus, and to what extent it will be a matter of remote logging in to a math dept computer (or jet, for that matter) and using a display on the X terminal at which the student will be sitting. I'm trying to find out about that now. A safe thing to assume is that the programs will be running on either jet (sgi) or gauss (a sparc station), and that geomview will also be on that computer, but that the students will be sitting in front of an X terminal. Occasionally the situation will be students sitting in front of jeti (old SGI 4D personal worksta- tion) and running both programs on that computer.
