OK -- how you do this depend on the kind of machine you have.
If (as it seems) you're running X geomview, you could probably get an image
using the public-domain PBM image-processing toolkit.
(If you don't have these programs, the package as a whole is called "pbmplus",
so you could search for that with archie, for example.  We got our copy from
pprg.unm.edu.)

Anyway, given that, you should be able to say

   xwd | xwdtopnm | ppmtogif > yourpicture.gif

xwd, a standard X program, will change the cursor to a crosshair; click on
the Geomview graphics window to grab its contents.  xwdtopnm and ppmtogif
are part of the pbmplus package, and should convert the window snapshot
into GIF form.  Good luck.
