Dear Dr. Araki: Thank you for your interest in Crayola. I no longer work at the Geometry Center, so I'll forward your mail on to them. I believe the the source code for Crayola is still included in the full source release of Geomview. I'm not sure if the NeXT, X, and SGI distributions have been separated -- if so, Crayola is probably in the NeXT and SGI releases. Crayola is a pretty simple program. One improvement I can suggest is to modify it to transfer the objects in binary instead of ascii format. If you are dealing with hierarchical objects (for example, lists) you might want to check out using the (replace-geometry) command to pass only the part of the hierarchy that has changed back through the pipe. Good Luck! -Celeste ------------------------------------------------------------ From: t93827ya%sfc.keio.ac.jp at Princeton.EDU Date: Wed, 09 Nov 94 18:27:56 +0900 Dear Dr. Fowler. I am very much interested in your "Crayola", the geomview external module. Recently I made "WebPaint", a colaborative symmetrical drawing tool on the web, using geomview, weboogl.perl, and cgi-bin of httpd. It is available http://synap.neuro.sfc.keio.ac.jp/~aly/polygon/webpaint/webpaint.html . But my algorithm in gcl(geomview command language) is too slow to do. I am very apriciate your kindness you send the source code of "Crayola", if possible. Thank you very much. yoshiaki araki t93827ya at sfc.keio.ac.jp http://www.sfc.keio.ac.jp/~t93827ya/ Takefuji Lab.
