Thanks, > Zhan > > We do not distribute the X version of Geomview in binary form for SGIs since we assume the majority of users will only want to use the GL version. If you really want the X version running on an SGI, what you can do is compile it from the source distribution. That's available from ftp://ftp.geom.umn.edu/pub/software/geomview-src.tar.Z You will need to edit the file Geomview/makefiles/mk.sgi and set the variable GVTYPE = X11 and the variable MGTYPE = -DMGX11 Then, follow the rest of instructions necessary to perform the build of Geomview and you should get a gvx executable which has a motif interface and uses X11 graphics, not GL for rendering. It will not be nearly as fast as the GL version but it will work on an x-terminal. If you want to use Geomview on a different architecture (Sun or HP for instance) you may instead want to get a binary distribution for that machine from the ftp://ftp.geom.umn.edu/pub/software/geomview/ directory. Hope this helps, Daeron Meyer daeron at geom.umn.edu
