Theoretically sun4 binaries should work in compatibility mode under Solaris but in practice they sometimes don't. You could either grab the source code from ftp.geom.umn.edu (/pub/software/geomview/geomview-1.5.0-src.tar.Z) and try compiling it for yourself under Solaris, or you could wait for us to come out with a Solaris distribution. Also, if you are using OpenWindows, you might want to try the OpenWindows patch and see if that fixes it: (/pub/software/geomview/geomview-1.5.0-sun4-patch1.tar.Z). That bad system call might be in the X11 libraries. Hope this helps, Daeron Meyer daeron at geom.umn.edu
