Yes, an OS incompatibility might be the problem, actually perhaps more like
a shared library incompatibility. I think Geomview was compiled under a
slightly older version of AIX than what you are running. The problem
you are experiencing is likely caused by a change in the Motif libraries.
(XmString is a data type in Motif). So, you will probably need to grab the
source code and recompile it. That's geomview-src.tar.Z, available in the
same place you got the rs6000 distribution.
