[ REQ 5318]: Installing Geomview on HP-UX 9.05

I retrieved the HP-UX version of Geomview 1.5 and tried to install it on my
HP 9000/720, running HP-UX 9.05, X11R5, Motif1.2 and HP VUE. When I tried
to run it, it complained that it couldn't find a display with the correct
number of planes and asked to send you the output from xdpyinfo. That's
included after the letter.

I also tried running to an X server on a PC with OS/2 and PMX. It
also complained about the number of planes. I don't have xdpyinfo
output for that display.

I decided to try downloading the source and compiling it, in the hope I
might track down where it's asking X about the display, and correct its
misinterpretation about the number of planes.

tm3persp.c caused (revealed?) an internal compiler bug in gcc. I couldn't
compile it with cc, either, but I _could_ compile with "cc -Aa", which
puts HP cc into ANSI mode.

I am still unable to compile xanimate, gvmain and xpssnap. The compiler
reports syntax errors in system and gcc .h files. I don't see anything
wrong at the point where the error is reported, so I think it's caused by
something being redefined before the #include takes place.

Do you have bin for HP 9000/7xx using HP-UX 9.xx, X11R5, Motif1.2 and HP VUE?

Do you want the output from "make" when I tried to compile Geomview?

Best regards,
Van Snyder
