[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [ REQ 5348]: Display depth
Dear Sirs: By way of introduction, my name is William Wheeler. I'm a faculty member in the mathematics department at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. I attended the 2 day graphics seminar at the Geometry Center last August that was offered just before the AMS-MAA meeting. I am currently running Geomview on several machines here at IU. Two of the machines are IBM XStations, which are X terminals rather than computers themselves. So, Geomview, rather than running on the Xstation, is actually executing on an RS6000 and displaying on the XStations. One of the Xstations has a color display, and everything is working satisfactorily on that one. But one of the Xstations has a B/W monochrome display, and Geomview refuses to run on this display even though the display is configured to have a depth of 8. May I please request your advice on how to rectify the problem. Below please find the output from xdpyinfo for this Xstation. Thank you for your help. Please send any reply to wheeler at indiana.edu.
