[ REQ 5370]: Help

Hello
        I've finally gained access to a UNIX station so that I can play
with Geomview, but as I am not well versed in UNIX, I'm having trouble
getting them to work.
        Do I need to unzip, uncompress, unpack...then what about the patch
for Sun stations?  I get sort of confused about the tar format, is it
tar xvf geomview*.      ?
