[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [ REQ 5461]: ellipsoids
Hi, I downloaded Geomview last night, and spent a couple of hours looking through it. I have a couple of questions. Before I ask, I need to explain that I have spent a year or so trying to Intergraph Microstation on an academic license, with a version that has *known* bugs. Since I am academic user, I am entitled to no support, and indeed, Bentley (DOS version supporter) has given me very little. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I am really rather burned out on graphics. I had intended to use the program as a graphics laboratory to model rock fracture systems. Before I invest an enormous amount of time into a different program, I need to know the following: 1) Can I easily construct an ellipsoid with a major, intermediate, and minor axis? This is for illustrating 3 dimensional, 2nd order tensor quantities. /* 2) Will Geomview save to PostScript? I use LaTeX for composing papers; PostScript images are supported. If not, what would be my options here. */ Never mind this one, I just found the manual entry! BTW, I am very impressed. The quality of `free' software continues to grow. I also use gcc and djgpp. Great stuff. Many thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, Dave Doolin
