[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [ REQ 5514]: Obtaining postscript
Hello - we're having difficulty getting a "jaggy-less" image out of geomview on a fairly big data file (12 Mb grayscale). The screen images are very satisfactory, and if (on an Indigo 2) we do "save as" in Iris RGB format, we get a faithful rendition which we can convert to postscript, e.g. with xv. But of course this loses the higher resolution that postscript on printers ordinarily provides. When we run PS Snapshot on the entire image (on either a Sparc 20 or Indigo 2) we get explosive growth in memory use (> 150 Mb on one, 200 Mb on the other); PS Snapshot on smaller pieces exhibits its documented "z-buffering not quite right" error. Is there any other approach we might try to produce honest postscript from geomview, unfiltered by the limitations of screen resolution ? thanks in advance, Allen Back
