[ REQ 5620]: pipes doesn't work!

I downloaded RS/6000 and Linux versions of geomview. Geomview works.
When I try to use  togeomview package, typing the command:

cat off_file|togeomview -g

Under Linux works fine. The same command on the RISC produces this output:

error reading "/tmp/geomview/minerva": can't seek back far enough (on pipe?):
> END OF FILE

If I execute geomview -M [name] before togeomview, the output (when I'm
using togeomview) is:

o]

I tried to use a different directory rather than /tmp, and other sybolic names,
but the result is similar.

Can you help me ?
