[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: [Update REQ 5655]: modifying Geomview
The "geomview" shell script (typically /usr/local/bin/geomview) invokes a particular executable, normally "gvx", from some directory. Look for the setting of GEOMVIEW_GVX in that script. It's probably still running the originally installed version. You can override this temporarily by setting an environment variable, e.g. setenv GEOMVIEW_GVX ~Geomview/src/bin/geomview/x11/gvx geomview ... This will run the new version of geomview for just that session (i.e. from just that shell window). For a permanent setting, you could copy .../bin/geomview/x11/gvx to the place where the geomview script expects it. Or, run "make install"; that will install a new "geomview" script and "gvx" binary somewhere, probably in either BINDIR (/usr/local/bin) or ~Geomview/bin/sun4.
