It is not very good at being a volume renderer. Instead of using Geomview, you might try using "Bob", the free volume visualization package from the Army High Performance Research center. It's located at the following URL: http://www.arc.umn.edu/html/gvl-software/bob.html This might be just what you're looking for. It handles very large 3D datasets, but for interactive use, you'll really need an SGI with lots of graphics hardware like VGX, or Reality Engine/2 graphics. Good luck! Daeron
