Re: [Update REQ 5696]: Question about WEBOOGL Installation

Hello!
Thank You for the answer.

Maybe you should mention that somewhere in your WWW Pages.

The "mosaic_cmd" idea came from your "Trouble Shooting" Page...

You were right.

With Your suggestions, i tried to track down the problem a little
further. It seems that the versions of netscape(1.1N) and mosaic (2.6)
running on SunOs 5.4 Generic_101945-27 sun4m do not set the right
process group id. The getpgrp() fkt.call in "to-weboogl.perl"
gives not the right process id of the browers (the browers are
running directly from a bash). This might be a bug in the operating
system as it work under SunOS 4.1.3.

I suggest adding a check, with the "ps" command for example, after the
getpgrp(). If it failes, it might be interesting to test for a
running netscape or mosaic process with the right user id.

Another problem seems to be a great delay which occurs sometime,
after clicking in geomview until netscape starts loading the requested
URL.

Bye,
	Bernhard Reiter
