Would you be willing to try an alpha-test version?  I've shipped a current
version of our geomview sources over to your machines and compiled an
Open GL version there (on thomson.umd.edu).  The result did succeed in
displaying a dodecahedron on an Iris here over the net, but it's not
very practical to use remotely.  If you're willing to play with it,
that'd be great.  It's in ~slevy/alphabin/geomview (a.k.a. gv) on thomson.
The bulk of the distribution is in ~slevy/Geomview there.
