You may be in luck.  We're unlikely to ever deal with a Convex, but the
mathematica-to-geomview connection can work remotely.  The only thing needed
on the Convex is the ability to use "rsh" (remote-shell) to a machine where
geomview can run.   By default, if you invoke Geomview.m or OOGL.m while
the "DISPLAY" environment variable refers to another machine, it will
try to rsh to that machine.  If that's the wrong thing to do, see
the setting of the DisplayHost option, e.g.
   << Geomview.m
   SetOptions[ Geomview, DisplayHost -> myiris.some.where.edu ]
