Ah.  You probably need to type
	./install
to be sure to run the Geomview installation script rather than the 
regular system "install" program.

Also, in case you're running HP-UX 10, we're told the regular geomview
distribution doesn't work on that.  If that's the case, you can pick up
a later version of the geomview executable from geom.umn.edu as
   priv/slevy/gvx-hpux.gz
To install that, you'd say
   gunzip gvx-hpux.gz		(you'll need GNU unzip to do this)
   chmod +x gvx-hpux
   mv gvx-hpux  ...whatever.../Geomview/bin/x11/gvx

replacing ...whatever... with the directory where you installed Geomview.
