Wow! What a response. Sure beats waiting on hold for an hour to talk to some idiot at Microsoft. Your recomendation right on. I might have stumbled into the tar step in unpacking a file sometime next week. When they said the learning curve for Unix is steeeeep I had no idea. At any rate Geomview up and running. At first glance it looks much more powerful than Mathlive and the price is right! I'm sure you know but just in case: The Tim Rowley version needs files that are not available in the Slackware 2.3 distribution of Linux kernel 1.2.8. The message I got when executing Tim's version said "Unable to load shared library libXt.so.6" Checking my system I find in /lib, libXt.so.3.1.0 Fortunately I still had the Linux version from the pub/software/geomview archive and that seems to work with my Linux distibution. Yes, I promise to register! Paul Middents Olympic College Bremerton, WA
