If you have no time to answer, I will thank you anyway... First I would like to intreduce myself. I am an M.A student for Mechanical Engineering at the Technion (the Israel Institute of Technology). My mother tungue is hebrew so please bare with my poor english. I have a problem which involves rendering of an abstract two dimensional surface. By abstract surface I mean that I have a prametrisation of a two dimensional reimanian manifold, which is not embeded in any ambient space. That is, all I know is the intrisic geometry of the surface, I can mesure the distance between any two points on the surface. I have managed to to embed the surface in a 6 dimensional space, and also managed to find a isometric immersion in a 4 dimensional space. What I need is a way to find an isometric immersion of the two dimensional surface in a 3 dimensional space. A way which preserve distances to view my surface. If you can help me, or know someone how can, I will be most thankfull. All the best Guy Rodany ------- end -------
