[ REQ 5957]: X11 problem

I compiled Geomview with MACHTYPE=x11 on an SGI with Irix 5.3.
I need to do this so that Geomview can be displayed over the
Network to a PC with X-windows.

The compile went cleanly and everything that I've tried seems
to work except that the File/Open and File/Save menus are
completely dead.  Do you have any idea what might be causing 
this ?
