Hi.  I'm not sure what causes this problem -- it doesn't happen on the machines
we have here -- but would you be willing to try another version of
geomview which may change this behavior?

You can get the new binary by anonymous FTP to geom.umn.edu as
  priv/slevy/gvx-hpux-16b5.gz

This is just a gzip'ed binary, not a tar package.  After gzip -d'ing and
chmod +x'ing, you can just mv gvx-hpux-16b5 ...whatever.../Geomview/bin/x11/gvx
i.e. this is a direct replacement for the original gvx executable.

If you try this, please let us know what happens.
