[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [ REQ 6066]: Geomview versions
I wrote a couple of weeks ago concerning a desire to use Geomview for the graphics in a structural package for our students. I need the package on an Apollo workstation and on PC's running Windows NT (and 95) if possible. You don't support either, so I have been perusing your web pages looking for versions I can probably get to work. In order to go furthere I need to understand a bit of the structure of Geomview relative to the API's that it uses. I have not found reference to manuals describing its structure; could you help me find the info and answer a few questions so that I don't go down the "garden path". In my perusal process, I have found reference to versions of Geomview that use MESA for display. Is Mesa the package of choice to take the output from Geomview and display it? Is Geomview a package built om Mesa, or does Geomview just output open gl, and MESA happens to take open gl as its input? If MESA is the way to go, dDoes Mesa work on plain X11 (without Motif). If so, I could get it running on my current Apollo workstation. If I need Motif, I must first upgrade my Apollo software; I can do it, but would prefer not to do it. Does Mesa work on the PC? Am I going in the right direction???? Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem. Prof. Lopez l-lopez at uiuc.edu
