Hmm, if you do have geomview 1.6.1, not sure what's up.  The
sources include several ``#ifdef __FreeBSD__''s, including
some which, if effective, should mean the errors you're seeing
shouldn't happen.  (For example, _ptr would be #define'd to _p at
line 167 of src/lib/oogl/util/futil.c, so the
"futil.c: 739: structure has no member named _ptr" should not appear.)

I had the impression that cc under Free BSD would always identify the system
by defining __FreeBSD__; can you tell whether it does?  If not, then assuming
you've set CPU to FreeBSD, you could probably force that definition by adding
  -D__FreeBSD__
to the SYSCOPTS line in makefiles/mk.FreeBSD.
