Thanks! Didn't realize OOGL.m is a text file (which got corrupted while being transferred from Linux to Windows95), hence downloaded new source code. I'm now able to view Mma file (generated in Win95) with Geomview (Linux) through WriteChunk. A curious side note: Size of graphicobjectfile generated using WriteChunk is more than 5x bigger than that generated (i.e., dumping Mma file into Win95 without using WriteChunk) and editing said file using wordprocessor (e.g., Word) and transferring latter file to Linux Geomview. It is strange that WriteChunk added more vertices to the same file. (Note: I've used TWJones ExtendGraphics to create the original pic). Below is an actual example of the same file created using WriteChunk versus editingMmafilebywordprocessor. nucsci9:~$ head writechunkmethod.oogl { LIST { = OFF 1776 592 0 -0.7161904629174249 -0.2037877596679613 -0.1440594327324995 -0.5735569171244417 -0.1001518392560399 -0.00875978654388737 -0.2233328980747288 0.5484614673501334 0.1666200958193284 nucsci9:~$ head editbywordprocessor.oogl { LIST { = OFF 300 592 0 -0.716190838000144 -0.2037878130349405 -0.1440594008198294 -0.7161901576307761 -0.2037878366199595 -0.1440593338828939 -0.60190172233823 -0.1794552865468421 -0.1103225722668019 -0.5735573162314723 -0.1001518523312723 -0.008759788175178995 On Thu, 23 Jul 1998, Stuart Levy wrote in response to Alto Benedicto: > From: Stuart Levy <slevy at geom.umn.edu> > Subject: Re: [Update REQ 6635]: oogl.m for PC > > > Apparently, WriteChunk command needs to have OOGL.m loaded in > > Mathematica in order to work, which brought me the original > > problem of not having an OOGL.m compiled for Windows95. > > Wait -- OOGL.m (and all the other Mathematica files) don't need to > be compiled at all -- they're plain text files, and should just be copy-able > from UNIX to Windows.
