moving lights in geomview (NeXT)

Having (a lot of) difficulties changing position of lights in  
geomview on NeXT.

I am using a camera in the nd-viewer mode if this is a factor.
Is it that the lights can't be moved in this mode ?

It seems I can do it sometimes, not others--don't have a good fix on  
this.

Most of the time I end up moving (I think) the world.  The pannels  
(Main, Inspector, Tools) all show the lights are selected.
