Hello Francois,

  It might be that your compiler is a little out of date. I think we compiled
the version here with gcc 2.5.8. As for the binary version you downloaded
not working, we discovered a problem with certain HP's X servers. Some X
servers provide two different 8 bit pseudocolor visuals. One of these is the
default for the screen and the other one is not. Geomview chooses one of these
visuals for Camera windows but it is the wrong one. The next version of
Geomview should fix this problem once and for all. In the meantime, you could
download the binary distribution again, but replace your gvx binary with
the file /priv/daeron/bin/gvx.hp.Z on our ftp site (ftp.geom.umn.edu). You'd
need to download this file, uncompress it, and move it to:

Geomview/bin/x11/gvx

in the binary distribution.
