I am running Linux 1.1.59 Right, because SYSLIBS is only used by Makefiles in the src/lib and src/bin tree and example3.c is not part of that tree. That's why you needed -liostream actually on the cc command line. > As far the RS6000 machine was concerned, compilation died within the first few > minutes with: > > cd skel ; make SITE=default all > cd O.x11 ; make SITE=default all > cd sphere ; make SITE=default all > cd O.x11 ; make SITE=default all > cd stub ; make SITE=default all > cd O.x11 ; make SITE=default all > > ERROR: no rule for ../bezierlist.c in Makefile in directory > /a/suntiger/u7/britt/rudolph/bin/src/Geomview/src/lib/gprim/stub/O.x11 > > make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1. > > Make Quitting. > make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 2. etc... I'm not sure what could be causing this compile bomb out on the RS6000. You might try doing a "make depend" in src/lib/gprim/stub before doing a plain "make", and see if that fixes it (but that really shouldn't have been necessary). We don't have an RS6000 here at the center so it is kind of hard for us to diagnose the exact souce of this problem. > ******************************************************************** > > Any help will be very much appreciated. You could send mail to Barry Kaufman <SIKBDK at rcinet.utc.com> asking for precompiled RS6000 libraries. He seemed to have successfully compiled the Geomview distribution on the RS6000. You might also send mail to the geomview-users at geom.umn.edu mailing list. Hope this helps, Daeron Meyer daeron at geom.umn.edu >
