> 1. Is this the latest vertion of geoview? No. The latest version of Geomview is 1.5, which is more recent than your 1.3 version. You can get it via anonymous ftp from geom.umn.edu in the directory pub/software/geomview, or through the World Wide Web from http://www.geom.umn.edu/software/download/geomview.html. > 2. Is there a way to overcome the problem of drowing a graph in the > euclidian space with it's edges without any information about the > faces ? Yes. There are two possible data formats to use. The VECT format is explicitly intended for drawing lines. Also, you can also have an OFF object where the "faces" are specified as having 2 vertices. Such degenerate faces are treated as lines. (In fact, if you specify faces which consist of one vertex, points are drawn.) Below is an example of a line drawn from (0,0,0) to (1,1,1) in both ways: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ line.vect: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ VECT 1 2 0 2 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ line.off ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OFF 2 1 1 0 0 0 1 1 1 2 0 1 Both the VECT and OFF formats are introduced in the oogltour document, and are fully documented in the manual. Hope this helps, Tamara Munzner The Geometry Center ((555) 555-5555 munzner at geom.umn.edu http://www.geom.umn.edu/~munzner
