There are 3 ways:

1. Click on the "Background Color" button on the Camera panel. Use the
resulting color editor.

2. Type the keyboard shortcut "CB" in the camera window. Use the
resulting color editor

3. Put a line like "(backcolor allcams 1 1 1)" in a file in your home
directory called ".geomview". The three numbers can range from 0 to 1
and denote RGB (red, green, blue) values. "1 1 1" will make the
background white, "0 0 1" will make blue, ".7 1 .6" makes light green,
etc.
