The SPHERE object is a subclass of the BEZIER object. The refinement level of these objects is user-controllable. The default is 10, the lower limit is 2, which would draw SPHERE objects as octahedra. You can change this number through the Patch Dicing input on the Appearance panel at runtime. If you find a setting you like, you can customize Geomview by putting a line like this: (dice allgeoms 2) in a file in your home directory called ".geomview". Change the "2" to be the number you'd like. Tamara Munzner
