[ REQ 5744]: scaling INST objects

Hello,

is there any possibility to scale a geom object via a transform object?
I think I know the meaning of the left three columns of the transformation
matrices (A) geomview uses, but what about the fourth column? I've found out
that the element at the lower right hand corner does some scaling, but the
result is not what I expected. Could you please so kind and mail me a
detailed description of the meaning of the elements of A and about the order
of transformations (rotation -> shifting -> scaling, shifting -> rotation ->
scaling, ...)!
