[ REQ 5783]: X-Geomview problem

I read about geomview in the latest Linux Journal, and thought I'd
give it a try. The system is on a Gateway 2000 P5-133.
After untarring geomview, cd-ing to /Geomview and running geomview as
indicated in the INSTALL file, I got the message
X-Geomview currently supports only 24, 8, and 1 bit
deep displays. No supported display depth was found.
Please mail the output of "xdpyinfo" to
        Software at geom.umn.edu

So here's the output:

I am relatively new to Linux, so it is very possible that
I have something configured incorrectly on my system.
Thanks for any help.
