You might also consider the Visualization Toolkit (vtk), distributed
by Bill Lorensen's group at GE. It's a very nice public domain set of
C++/tcl libraries with an accompanying book. There's a lot of code for
precisely this kind of thing: they've even got a Cyberware format file
reader. It would be quite easy to build a reader object for your file
format and then use their triangulation code. See

I may end up integrating Geomview into their system as one of the
possible 3D renderers over the next several months.
