[ REQ 5877]: Port of Geomview to FreeBSD Operating System

To: software@geom.umn.edu
Subject: Port of Geomview to FreeBSD Operating System

Has Geomview ever been ported successfully to FreeBSD?

I am attempting to run the Linux binaries using the (supposed) ability
of FreeBSD to run Linux apps, but I am running into some
bugs.

  1. Can't type in text via the user interface properly.
  2. Initial camera window position does not seem to get
set according to .geomview file commands or by
        -wpos command line argument.
  3. Keyboard shortcut functionality seems to get
hosed (and does not always clear after hitting
        an unused key).

Seems like some pretty basic IO problem. Attempted to compile
source locally, but some funny business is going on with use of
FILE types within the code.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
