[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [ REQ 5960]: creating MPEGs with geomview?
Hi, I have written a program that will simulate the movement of a truss when some of its nodes are displaced. It is written as a geomview module and sends, at each time step, a picture of the truss to geomview. This gets my a nice animation. But I'd like to put an MPEG or Quicktime movie of this animation on the web. Is there any way that I can do this? Perhaps, at each iteration, I can have geomview save its picture, and then I can use another program to convert all of these pictures into an MPEG. But geomview seems to only save to TIFF. But I could always get a program to convert from TIFF to something else and then convert to MPEG. So it seems that I could probably do this, but it would be a pain. Is there by any chance a standard method of doing this (that isn't too painful?) Thanks, Gann P.S. I think it's a travesty that NSF isn't renewing. I've sent them mail already. -- ________________________________________________________________________Gann Bierner -=) gbierner at rice.edu (=- \ O _O \_-)--- (=-_/ /\ /\ ________________________________________________________________________
