You should get the OpenGL version of Geomview; Impact machines run
OpenGL programs much faster than they do IrisGL, and Geomview 1.4.1
uses IrisGL. The relevant file to pick up is

  ftp.geom.umn.edu:pub/software/geomview/geomview-opengl-irix5.tar.Z

This has a different user interface from version 1.4.1, but the
functionality is the same. And it should run much faster on
your Impact machine.

In general, the file

  ftp.geom.umn.edu:pub/software/geomview/README

lists all the available Geomview distributions and explains which
run best on which kinds of machines.
