Re: [Update REQ 5991]: where'd you get the colorwheel?

Thanks for the pointer. I've got two related modules. The first allows you to
pick a point-group (either one of the crystallographic groups or one you can
construct yourself), and choose one or more normal directions, and it
constructs the Wulff shape. (It uses the qhull library to do half space
intersections). Handy for learning about point groups and for working materials
scientists interested in Wulff shapes. The second is for gathering data about
objects displayed in GV: it lets you pick a facet/edge/vertex, and it returns
information about it (like the area or length, and the coordinates of the point
picked). It also lets you measure distances between points on the geom.
Obviously its intended to go with the Wulff shape maker (called Wulffman, of
course :) ), but since it could be of general use, I seperated it. (It's
basicly hacked out of 'example 3' with an x-forms interface added). We're going
to make them available here at http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/<somewhere> along with
documentation and pointers to you guys within the next month. Ryan McCormick is
working on documentation and the web site (ryan at ctcms.nist.gov). I'll have him
send you the full address when its available since I'm going to be gone for the
next month.

Oh, I discovered a bug in the X version of GV with regards to picking: if you
try to use the nose module and pick a vertex, it will come back with the wrong
vertex (it picks a neighbor along one of the adjacent edges). This is in
1.6.0b5, but I think it appeared in X 1.5 as well.
