Hi. Sorry, no, we actually have no way to fix the problem of incorrect
surface hiding in Postscript -- getting this to be truly correct would
involve a much more sophisticated algorithm. Your next best bet will be to
use the "PPM snapshot" or "PPM Screen Snapshot" facility in the later
versions of geomview. You can get an up-to-date binary by FTP to geom.umn.edu
under priv/slevy. Pick up:

   gvx-linux-161b3-X11.gz

Decompress it, make it executable (chmod +x), and put it in place of
Geomview/bin/linux/gvx. Its "Save" panel has these new modes.
Where a file is expected in the browser, you can optionally enter a UNIX
sh command preceded by a | pipe sign, as in
   | gzip > smallerfile.ppm.gz
or even, if you have the pbmplus or netpbm toolkits,
   | pnmtops > picture.ps

(Note that the | must be the *first* character, with no blanks preceding it.)

Bit-mapped images have the disadvantage over polygon-based Postscript
that they look worse on high-resolution media like printers; you can take
a snapshot of a large window, and get some tradeoff between bulk of the PS file
and image quality.
