Sigh -- it seems you've found a bug.  This example sometimes works for me,
sometimes not.  The bug lies in the solaris version of the program "math2oogl"
which accompanies geomview; you can get a new version of its binary,
which I think fixes the bug, from
   ftp://geom.umn.edu/priv/slevy/math2oogl.solaris.gz

This is just a compressed solaris executable, not a tar package.
After gunzipping, replace "math2oogl" (wherever the installation put it,
perhaps /usr/local/bin) with the result.
