[ REQ 6084]: Geomview internal error

To: software@geom.umn.edu
Subject: Geomview internal error
Message-ID: <Pine.HPP.3.95.970118112615.4670C-100000 at serv2.imm.dtu.dk>

I've just downloaded Geomview and have started playing around with the
examples from Qhull. I like to learn-by-doing which includes pressing all
buttons to see what happens. What I've done may therefore not make sense
from a rational point of view, but it did create an internal error and a
core dump, so it must be considered a bug at some level (a user shouldn't
be allowed to do something that doesn't make sense, and if it makes sense
it should work ...)

The problem occurs with the data set eg.17a.delaunay.2 from

http://www.geom.umn.edu/software/qhull/qh-eg.html

Choosing 'conformal' from the camera pop-up and starting and orbit (all
other settings at default) then leads to :

serv2:~ > Shared memory unavailable, using fallback display method.
Geomview: internal error: Segmentation violation; dump core now (y/n) [n]?
[1]+ Segmentation fault (core dumped) geomview

I have installed Geomview from geomview-1.6.1-hpux.tar.gz on a HP-UX 10.20
system. I hope that information is sufficient for you to reproduce the
error. If not you are welcome to contact me.

  Best regards

  Rasmus Tamstorf
