Ah, you must have installed the previous release of geomview. Please
pick up the latest copy, at

   ftp://geom.umn.edu/pub/software/geomview/geomview-1.6.1-sgi.tar.gz

The complaint about shared libraries arises because the R8000 systems
don't seem to include libraries needed to run GL-based programs compiled
under Irix 4. The new geomview-1.6.1-sgi.tar.gz package was compiled
under Irix 5 (and uses OpenGL), and should work on your machine.
Note that you'll need to fetch geomview-1.6.1-sgi.tar.gz rather than
geomview-sgi.tar.gz or .tar.Z, since the latter two still refer to the
old version of geomview.

If the link to the U.S. is very slow, you can also retrieve the package from
  ftp://ftp-sfb288.math.tu-berlin.de/pub/geomview/geomview-1.6.1-sgi.tar.gz
