Please try installing the current version of geomview, version 1.6.1,
available from
ftp://geom.umn.edu/pub/software/geomview/geomview-1.6.1-linux.tar.gz
and from
ftp://ftp-sfb288.math.tu-berlin.de/pub/geomview/geomview-1.6.1-linux.tar.gz
It does support 16-bit TrueColor displays, and also includes many new
modules and other features.
