Hmm, that's funny -- mgexample has worked for us.  Can you tell us something
about your environment?  What kind of machine did you compile it on?
Is there a setting (in .../Geomview/makefiles/mk.<your-machine-type>)
for MGTYPE, e.g. of -DMGOPENGL or -DMGX11?

Are you running mgexample from a directory which contains dodec.quad,
as its source directory does?

If you run mgexample under a debugger (e.g. dbx or gdb), can you tell
where it fails?  (Under dbx, type "run"; when it fails, type "where".
Under gdb, type "r"; when it fails, type "bt".)
